Breast/Chest Care Tips & Tricks

Lifestyle:
Go bra-less when possible
Avoid underwire bras
Exercise for lymphatic movement (rebounding, running, dance, swim, yoga, breath work)
Avoid excess coffee due to inflammatory effects
Focus on dental health (the lymph nodes between the teeth are connected to the breasts)
Avoid tampons (and if you do use them, make sure they are 100% organic cotton)
Avoid plastics (especially flimsy plastics with BPA and Phthalates)
Sleep at least 7-8 hours in as dark of a room as possible to increase melatonin
Self Care:
Castor Oil Packs- on breast/chest or over abdomen to support liver Sauna/Steam Room
Gua Sha/Cupping
Herbal recs:
Frankincense essential oil - for cysts - put 2-3 drops on breasts daily in carrier oil
Grapefruit essential Oil - for stagnant lymph - put 2-3 drops on armpits in oil
Clary sage and Rose Geranium essential oil - for hormonal balance
Nettles, Cleavers, Raspberry leaf tea for minerals and hormonal regulation
Turmeric with black pepper for anti-inflammatory effects (golden milk tea)
Liver Supporting Herbs- Red Clover, Milk Thistle, Dandelion Root as daily tea
Food recs:
9-13 servings of fruits and veggies a day
Fiber is essential for hormone regulation and good breast health (flax seeds!)
EFAs (sardines, walnuts, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds)
Brazil nuts (eat 2 per day for selenium, especially if supplementing with iodine) Cruciferous veggies & dark leafy greens (at least one a day!)
Sulforafane (Broccoli, Garlic, Onion)
Seaweeds for iodine (Kombu, Wakame)
Maca and sweet potatoes build progesterone (helpful for menopause & luteal phase)
Berries (blueberries, blackberries, pomegranates)- for antioxidants/anti-inflammatory Cooked mushrooms (Maitake, reishi, shiitake)
Eliminate or reduce processed food, sugar, artificial sweeteners, conventionally raised meat, dairy and eggs
Avoid alcohol as it is a strong immune suppressor
Supplements:
Vitamin D3/K2- needs to be in 70-90 ng/ml range to be protective
Chaste Berry/Vitex- to increase progesterone. Take as a supplement or tincture 2x daily during the luteal phase of your cycle for at least 3 months
Iodine - improves thyroid health, which is the main surveillance mechanism for abnormal cells
Magnesium Glycinate- to support healthy bowel movements and stress response
