Hi, I’m Abbey Joy.
Womb healer. Breast tender. Heart opener.
I took many circuitous paths in life to get here, many times wondering if they were leading me anywhere meaningful. But I trusted my whole body as a guide, and now I know I am right where I am supposed to be.
My initiations started when I left my well defined, good on paper life and went to Uganda. This is where I first fell in love with reproductive health.
Then I went to Colombia, where I shed the layers of who I was supposed to be. To Costa Rica, where I studied herbal medicine and permaculture and remembered that the earth heals. To California, where Ayurveda and bodywork gave my hands a language for the care I'd been looking for my whole life.
Even in my own practice, I've had to listen — when the call came to focus on breast and womb care, I followed it. In this work, I feel like I'm channeling something bigger than myself. It's hard to describe. But I trust it.
And I want that trust for my clients too. Because when you trust yourself, life becomes play, magic, pleasure — an adventure to be present for instead of something to endure.
So welcome to my little corner of the world — whether you're here for regular sessions, episodes of The Bitter Truth Podcast, or The Sweet Note. It's all here for you, my offering back to those who want a lot more joy in their lives!
Ways to work with me
One-on-One Sessions — The heart of my practice. Deep, nurturing, hands-on care tailored to your body and your journey. New to me? Start with a Welcome Session.
Workshops — I host focused immersions in breast care and womb care. Learn to tend to your own body with knowledge, confidence, and love.
Retreats — Each year I host a handful of local and international retreats. These are extended spaces to rest, receive, and learn in intensive gatherings of likeminded folks.
The Bitter Truth Podcast — Conversations on reproductive care, hormonal wisdom, and the radical act of loving the body you’re in.
A note about gender
I work with wombs, breasts, hormones, and cycles — and with everything that shapes them, including the constructs of gender we each carry and live inside. This work is for every body with these systems: women, trans and nonbinary folks, and anyone whose body holds this territory. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
And the land
I am based in occupied Southern Pomo & Coast Miwok territory also known as Sebastopol in Sonoma County, CA. These lands were never ceded, and the Southern Pomo and Coast Miwok people — including the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria — continue to live, work, and steward here today. I offer this acknowledgment with gratitude for the land that holds my practice, and with commitment to being a respectful guest upon it.
